Several missiles, fireworks and coins were thrown by a small number of people who took part in the protest. One Police officer and a member of the public were injured.
Cllr Maire Hendron said: “I am glad that we did not see a repeat of the widespread violence that took place at last year’s parade, but I am disappointed that several missiles were thrown by a small number of people who took part in the protest.
“I hope that the two people injured at the parade, including one Police officer, were not seriously hurt.
“It is frustrating that many of our city centre businesses have lost a large amount of trade due to the disruption from this parade and protest. This has been a largely peaceful parading season, but I hope that all sides will work together to minimise disruption to the public and our businesses in future years.”
