McAllister condemns attack on soldiers’ memorial

Alliance North Belfast Councillor Nuala McAllister has condemned those who painted graffiti on a memorial to three soldiers who were murdered by the IRA in North Belfast. The graffiti appeared on the memorial in the Ligioniel Road area, on Friday night. It is the third time it has been attacked in recent months.

Cllr Nuala McAllister said: “This disrespectful act will undoubtedly cause hurt to the families of these three soldiers. It is disappointing that this memorial has been repeatedly attacked.

“I would urge whoever is responsible for these attacks to leave this memorial alone and let the families of these soldiers remember their loved ones in peace.

“I would ask anybody with any information about this crime to contact the Police.”
