Cllr Billy Webb said: “There is no place in our society for any such hate crime. No one deserves to be the victim of such a racially motivated attack.
“The vast majority of the public have been welcoming to people from all backgrounds. I am disgusted that a person has been targeted in this manner. I would like to offer my support to the victim of this appalling crime.
“If anybody has any information about this attack then I would urge them to contact the Police.”
