Cllr John Blair said: “The Parades Commission is the lawful regulatory body for making decisions on where parades can and cannot take place. It is for this reason that this determination must be respected and full support given to the Police.
“It is paramount that all sides enter into meaningful dialogue without setting preconditions, so that we can resolve this dispute.
“There is also a need for elected representatives to choose their words wisely in order to reduce tensions in the area. We must ensure that we do not have a repeat of the violence that we have witnessed this summer.”
