Councillor John Blair said: “This dispute went on far too long and I am pleased to hear negotiations have finally led to pupils gaining access to the mobile classrooms from the end of the month.
“Alliance has previously written to the Belfast Education and Library Board to press for urgent action to resolve this issue, it is regrettable that it still dragged on as long as it has but at least the end is in sight for pupils, teachers and parents.
Spokesperson Nuala McAllister added: “Lessons must be learnt from this situation. It is completely unacceptable that petty bureaucracy can impact the education of any young person in Northern Ireland. Steps must be taken to ensure this doesn’t happen again.”
