Lo concerned that 15 men took part in South Belfast assault

Alliance South Belfast MLA Anna Lo has condemned an assault on a young man in the Milltown Road area in South Belfast on Friday night at 20:00. A group of 15 men approached his car, forced him to get out of it before attacking him with hammers and bats. They then set his car on fire. Another car also caught fire. The man’s injuries are not life threatening.

Anna Lo MLA said: “There is no place on our streets for this type of violence. There could never be any justification for this attack.

“I am very concerned that such a large group of individuals decided to take part in this incident. I am shocked that this all happened near a very busy road.

“I would urge anybody with any information about this assault to contact the police.”
