Judith Cochrane MLA said: “I am glad that Translink have made the correct decision in providing railcards for students who are aged 24 and over.
“Considering the large amount of students who are not in the 16- 23 age band, it makes sense for these older students to be able to still avail of a rail card.
“We need to ensure that people of all ages are able to access further and higher education, and this includes providing benefits and opportunities to them that younger students can receive.
“I will continue to work with Translink to ensure that their ticketing policy is best placed to help different sections of our society.”
