Stewart Dickson MLA said: “This fault has created major disruption for our businesses. Some of our small and medium businesses rely on getting money transfers through on time, so this system crash is not what they need.
“If people are looking to invest in Northern Ireland today they will read the headlines of this story and they may think twice about doing so if one of our main banks cannot even do simple money transfers.
“There are questions that Ulster Bank must answer as to what caused this problem and why there was no sufficient back up system in place to prevent the issues that their customers have faced today.”
