Dickson calls for Eastwood to be removed from Justice Committee

Alliance Justice spokesperson Stewart Dickson MLA has called on the SDLP leader to remove Colum Eastwood from the Assembly Justice Committee over the role he played in the funeral of a former INLA member in Derry on Tuesday in which a Real IRA gunman fired shots.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “I am disappointed that Mr Eastwood participated in this paramilitary show of strength.

“I would ask Mr Eastwood to contact the police with any information he has on the identity of the gunman who took part in this funeral.

“This is such a serious situation that I would call on the SDLP leader Alaisdair McDonnell to remove Mr Eastwood from the Assembly’s Justice Committee.”
