David Ford MLA said: “Ray was a man with a vision for a transformed and reconciled Northern Ireland, but he was not just a visionary as he put that vision into practise in his work as chaplain at Queen’s University and as founder leader of Corrymeela.
“He was a huge inspiration to many of us who are working for peace and reconciliation, whether in politics, the church or community organisations.
“I had the privilege of working with Ray as a staff volunteer in Corrymeela and remain grateful for the opportunity he gave me and the example he set.
“On behalf of his friends in the Alliance Party, I send my sympathy to his sons and daughter.”
