Dickson appalled that police officer was stabbed

Alliance Justice Spokesperson Stewart Dickson MLA has expressed disgust at the stabbing of a police officer in Lurgan and the fact that other officers at the scene had petrol bombs and bricks thrown at them. The incidents took place in the Kilwilkie estate in the town.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “I am absolutely appalled at this whole catalogue of event. My thoughts are with all the officer who was stabbed and I hope that he makes a swift recovery. This was an absolutely horrific incident and it is despicable to think that this can happen to an officer when they are doing their everyday work.

“My thoughts are also with the officers who had petrol bombs and bricks thrown at them. It is despicable that anyone would do anything like. The police do an excellent job in protecting the public and they should be allowed to get on with their vitally important work free from attacked.”
