Cochrane welcomes appeal refusal for phone mast in East Belfast

Alliance East Belfast MLA Judith Cochrane has welcomed the decision by the Planning Appeals Commission to refuse to overturn a rejected bid by Vodafone for planning permission for a phone mast on Melfort Drive in Tullycarnet, East Belfast. Judith wrote to the PAC on behalf of local residents who were opposed to this phone mast.

Judith Cochrane MLA said: “I am delighted that the Planning Appeals Commission has refused to give planning permission for this phone mast. It is great news for local residents in Tullycarnet.

“Local residents made their opposition to this proposal quite clear and I was more than happy to write on their behalf to the Planning Appeals Commission to make sure that the decision went in their favour.

“This 15 metre high phone mast would have been an eye sore in what is a very residential area, so the correct decision was made.”
