Fitzpatrick disgusted by attack on Coleraine Football player

Alliance Coleraine Councillor Barney Fitzpatrick has expressed his disgust at the person who attacked a Coleraine Football player at the end of their match with Cliftonville last night. The player, Johnny Black was punched after he had scored the winning goal.

Cllr Barney Fitzpatrick said: “I am disgusted and outraged at the person responsible for this attack. This person is no sports fan, as the vast majority know that this type of behavior is completely unacceptable.

“The Justice Minister recently introduced laws to deal with this type of incident, so I would urge the courts to make full use of their new powers and prosecute this person to the fullest extent of the law.”
