Larne Alliance Councillor Geradine Mulvenna has attended a public consultation held by Libraries NI in which she voiced her support for the retention of Carnlough Library. The event was held last Thursday at the Londonderry Arms, Carnlough and was attended by over 100 people.
Cllr Geradine Mulvenna said: “I was glad to see such a large turnout for what is a very important issue, it shows that local people care very much about the retention of this library. We must save Carnlough library for the local community and particularly for the children.
“There is an absolute need for this library especially given that this is a rural area and it is such a vital community resource.
“I am going to take this up with Larne Council to set up a meeting with all the relevant groups to ensure that issue to quickly resolved.”
