Curran appalled at pipe bomb find in South Belfast

Alliance Laganbank candidate Catherine Curran has condemned the discovery of a pipe bomb in Friendly Street, in the Markets area of South Belfast. Described as a ‘viable device’ by Army bomb experts, it is understood that the device was found at around 9am on Thursday morning.

Catherine Curran said: “This is a deeply alarming incident, and I would urge anyone with information to contact PSNI immediately.

“The callous disregard for people in the area at the time is absolutely appalling. The minuscule minority of individuals who are involved in such activities must realise that fear and intimidation will never succeed.”
