Lunn praises students on GCSE results

Following the announcement of GCSE results in Northern Ireland, Alliance Education Spokesperson Trevor Lunn MLA has praised students here on their high level of achievement. He also said he was glad CCEA had provided assurances that it has re-checked multiple choice papers to try and prevent mistakes in results.

Trevor Lunn said: “These results are yet more good news for students in Northern Ireland. These high grades are testament to the high standard of teaching in Northern Ireland.

“Following the situation where some A-Level students received the wrong marks I am glad that GCSE multiple choice papers have been re-checked. It is unacceptable to make mistakes of this nature and I welcome CCEA’s internal investigation into this.

“I would again encourage anyone who needs assistance in making choices about their next step to use the services available and talk to their school or use the Department for Employment and Learning’s Careers Service.”
