Cllr Stewart Dickson said: “My thoughts are with the girl and her family, and I hope she makes a full and swift recovery. This is tragic accident for someone so young.
“This is an awful tragedy and the community will be very saddened at this news.
“Road safety is an issue that we should always be conscious of and I would encourage all parents and children to give it their utmost attention when they are out and about.”
