David Ford MLA said: “I am appalled that this vital community hall has been destroyed by mindless violence.
“This was a disgraceful attack carried out by those who have no thoughts about the consequences of their actions. It is a deeply disturbing incident.
Cllr Tom Campbell said: “The people who committed this arson attack have achieved nothing except to ruin the activities of the local community. These thugs have nothing to offer the community which is quite evident from their destructive activities. They must be brought to justice by the police before they carry out another such attack.
“I can not comprehend the mindset of those who carry out arson attacks such as this one.
“I would appeal to anybody who has any information about this arson attack to contact the police.”
