Following a successful campaign by Alliance Castlereagh Councillors, it was agreed by the Council at the beginning of March to make the minutes available on the Council website. To date they have still not been published.
Expressing frustration that the minutes are still not published Jonathan Simpson said: “This delay is completely unacceptable. In the interest of openness and transparency, this is the very least the Council can do to help create a sense of accountability to the ratepayers.
“This simply has to be a new era of transparency to restore public faith in politics. Castlereagh has yet to deliver on this and we will keep the pressure on the Council until they do so.”
