Coleraine Alliance Councillor Barney Fitzpatrick has condemned those behind a threat made against his party colleague Anna Lo, that a cross community event that she was attending in the Lodge Road Hotel on Thursday night should be cancelled. She still attended a multi-cultural forum event and a churches event in Coleraine yesterday despite the threat. The threat was phoned into the Lodge Hotel in the town which was hosting the churches event, which had publicised Anna’s appearance. The threat was reported to the police and they helped ensure her safety.
Cllr Barney Fitzpatrick said: “I am totally disgusted by this threat made against Anna. I am glad that Anna has not backed down and was able to attend these events. She chose to attend in order that this individual would not win.
“It is sad that such a hard working politician has to endure these threats but she will not let them stop her working for Northern Ireland.”
