Seán Neeson MLA said: “This is deeply worrying news and is devastating for both the staff affected and the wider community.
“This is an extremely difficult day for the local economy given that we also heard of job losses, albeit in reduced number than originally expected, at Wrightbus in Ballymena.
“I would call for immediate intervention from Invest NI to try and protect jobs at Schlumberger and would call on the Department for Employment and Learning to ensure measures can be put in place to assist with re-training for those affected by redundancies.”
