Alliance pleased that there’s no rates increase for Castlereagh

Castlereagh Alliance Councillor Sara Duncan has said she is pleased that there is to be no rates increase for the Borough. Her comments come after a Council meeting to strike the rate.

Alliance Cllr Sara Duncan, a member of the Council’s Estimates Working Group said: “I was delighted that Castlereagh Borough Council was able to achieve a 0% rate increase.

“Given the current economic climate, I think it is particularly import that ratepayers in the Borough will not be hit with an increase in their rates. At a time when people are struggling to pay their mortgage and bills this is a good news story.

“I would like to thank all the officers and other Councillors on all their work in helping to achieve this positive result.”
