Stewart Dickson said: “It would a devastating blow for the local economy if these jobs were to go.
“Ryobi is a vital employer for people in Carrickfergus, and not just for those working in the factory but also all the knock on sectors such as transport.
“I hope that the relevant Ministers will put measures in place so that any problems can be tackled if there are job losses at Ryobi.
“This Christmas must be a worrying time for the workers at the Ryobi factory in what should have been the festive period for them.”
