The East Antrim MLA stated: “Local people are fed up with the mentality of our politicians as regards our budget. People want Northern Ireland to start looking after its own affairs properly and to start balancing the books. Its time for the DUP, Sinn Fein, the Ulster Unionists and the SDLP to put away the begging bowl for once and for all.
“A report will be published by OFMDFM in the very near future stating that we waste around one billion pounds every year on keeping Northern Ireland divided. The Executive must act to free-up this cash and end the begging bowl mentality. They must formulate a strategy to invest to save, by working towards ending segregation.”
