Alliance East Londonderry representative Yvonne Boyle has condemned an attack on a Kilrea man, in which he was beaten over the head with an iron bar and shot in both ankles in front of his wife and two children, aged seven and eighteen months
Ms Boyle said: “This was a sickening attack, typical of paramilitaries. Such attacks achieve nothing, except cause heartache and pain for families.”
“Paramilitaries never have the right to take the law into their own hands. Once again, they have demonstrated their cowardice by seriously injuring someone in front of their own children.”
“This attack must be condemned by everyone who believes in real justice, and I would call on those responsible to call a halt to such attacks immediately.”
